Thank you so much everyone for your support, love and reminiscences of Mike, we were really overwhelmed! He settled to home life very quickly, loved his food and cuddles, was always up for new adventures and we were heartbroken losing him so soon. We do at least have wonderful memories to cherish. RIP Mike

I'm so sad to read this. Mike was such a fun lad. Always greeting people in that bouncy way.
I'm just glad he spent his retirement with a loving family. My sympathies go out to them.

So sad to hear this news. Mike was a character and well loved. It's so cruel that such a youngster is taken away so soon. At least he was adopted so he could be spoilt in his last weeks. My thoughts go out to his family. Run free sweet Mike. x

I heard today that Mike sadly passed away. My thoughts are with his family for whom it must be heart breaking. I feel privileged to have met and did my first Sutton Park walk with him. Such a nice dog I don't think I soon forget I had to stop the car to check if he was fine after the walk to see he was quietly relaxing. Lots of hugs and cuddles for Mike and his family.

It is with immense sadness I have to write that Mike has gone to Rainbow Bridge. His family are devastated and I am heartbroken for them and for Mike. He was such a very happy lad, full of life and he was loving being in his forever home.

Shortly after his adoption in July this year, he was diagnosed with terminal bone cancer. He passed away earlier this week, very peacefully in the vets garden with his family by his side. Xxx

I hope his family take comfort in knowing that thanks to them his last few weeks were filled with happiness, love and much care. We are so very grateful to them for all they did for Mike and for giving him a wonderful home...even if for only a short time. He was a real favourite during his time at Daybreaks and will never be forgotten. God Bless you Mike.

Our fabulous Mike went home today! Before leaving he spent a while amusing himself wandering around the kennels investigating everything! He had a great time checking out any bags or boxes he could find and enjoyed a quick slurp of Ian's cup of tea! It has been an absolute pleasure to meet him and we wish him a fantastic new life with his lovely family. Xxx

Mike came with me to Elmdon Park again today. He is such a sweet boy and he always greets you with such enthusiasm. He walks really well and is a great companion. He really loves walking through the long grass and enjoys a good sniff. I think he is enjoying exploring everything that a post racing life has to offer. I really hope that he gets his own family very soon xx

Mike had an adventure today as I had the privilege to take him to Sutton Park for an nice long walk. He travelled really well both going and coming back. In fact on the return journey I had to stop to check if he was ok as I did not see or hear him. Turned out he was lying on his side relaxing, good my panic over :-)

As it was Mike's first time out and about in the big world it was initially a little stressful with all these new impressions to take in. I was impressed with how quick he is taking things on board. He was initially pulling but I corrected this a couple of times and he soon realised what I needed from him. We even had the lead in a relaxed smile shape, well done Mike.

Mike was not fused about children or ducks. He very much enjoyed the smell of vegetation. Other dog breeds he finds interesting but is also a bit unsure, specially small dogs they are unusual to him. With some more socialisation I am sure he be great. It needs time and some patience as is with all dogs.

Mike I am really proud of your achievement today. You have a really nice manner about you, very attentive and alert and quick on the uptake. Whilst I would love to walk you more, I prefer it that you to find your forever home soon.

Met the irrepressible Mike today. What a lovely happy boy. He enjoyed his walk and walks nicely on the lead. Yvonne said he had a good time running in the sand run this morning and came back to her when she called him
He can be a bit vocal but I think he just wants company. Gorgeous dog xxxxx

Mike came to Elmdon Park with me again today. He was, once again, a joy to walk. He is such a friendly boy, who loves people. He walks very calmly and makes a great companion. I thought I had tired him out after an hour's walk but half an hour after returning to Daybreaks he looked full of energy again!! Fingers crossed for your own family soon Mike xx

Mike is a big bundle of fun. He's very vocal in his kennel, but loves being out in the centre run to see what's going on. His 1st reaction to me is to bow down to play. We have a good old run around, he's a big lad, but very gentle. He just loves people.

Mike came for a walk around Elmdon Park today. He was a really good boy. He walked very well and only showed a bit of interest in other dogs running around. We stopped for a few minutes and he had a really good lean. He likes his cuddles and is a friendly boy xx
