Penny settled into her new home very well. After a day's rest and cuddles, she's started to enjoy her new family with local walks and treats including meeting new friends.

Have a wonderful new life Penny. It’s been a pleasure having you in our house for the last few days even though you were a bit ‘dopey’ after your spay. You are a lovely girl and you will have a great time with your lovely new family xxx

Penny is at Ruth and Andys tomight. Ruth is feeling a little better and Andy very kindly collected Penny this evening. :) She had a nice day at the kennels and enjoyed the company of Skip and Lyra. Penny loves her food and will eat anything you give her! She had a great time in the sand run with Shirley and loved playing with toys. She joined in with all of our activities this afternoon :) She "supervised" the cats while Shirley and I were sorting the dog coats. She then made sure the Rich Tea biscuits were up to scratch by sampling a few! She is a really special girl. :))

Thank you for the very kind offers of a foster home for Penny. :) Excitingly she has someone coming to meet her on Thursday! Xxx

Penny has come back from foster today. She was going to stay with Ruth and Andy for a few days but sadly Ruth isn't too well and not able to take her. If there is anyone able to look after Penny for a while so she doesn't have to stay at the kennels on her own please call us on 0121 782 7702. Many thanks Xxx

It was great to see Penny this morning. :) She is a very bright, happy girl. A lovely soft coat, beautiful eyes and I love her ears! Hoping she will find her forever home soon. In the meantime she is being spoilt rotten by Angie and Michael. :)

Penny can highly recommend the JR Pet Products Three Bird Roast Christmas gift set! She sampled the Duck pate in a kong this afternoon which kept her occupied for 20 minutes straight - then she was so exhausted that she just had to have a snooze!!

This lovely lady is still looking for her forever home, she is a delight to be around, quiet and placid, although she definitely has a cheeky side just waiting to emerge! She loves food - but although she will come and have a very loud sniff when we're preparing food, or eating at the table - she does not pester or try to steal, and will eventually just take herself off to her bed when nothing is forthcoming!!

Her time with us is coming to an end and we would love for her to have another home to go to rather than find herself back in a kennel.

Although she is a good girl on her own, I think she would be happy to share her home with a Greyhound friend, as she sometimes just needs a little bit of a confidence boost.

Penny you are gorgeous, there has been much soul searching in the Scholey household this past week - but we honestly can't keep her. Our wish for this little sweetheart is a forever home sooner rather than later, and we are more than happy to speak to anyone who is interested in her to pass on any information.

Penny has had another good day - the glorious, if blooming cold, weather meant we had a lovely walk around the lakes this morning, more new territory for her and her amazing ears to explore!!

She is being such a good girl - we have learned not to rush her as surprisingly she is a little bit unsure at times, but letting her take things at her own pace reaps great rewards. She had a great play with a toy this afternoon - throwing it around and giving it a real good chew - until it squeaked, well that shocked her and her face was a picture!! Stifling giggles we let her carry on, and she duly started chewing and playing, until it squeaked again - well that was it!! She genuinely couldn't work out where the noise was coming from and thought discretion was the better part of valour and retired to her bed!!!

So in a change of plan - Miss Penny is now spending the remaining week or so of lockdown at Chez Scholey!!

She really is a little beauty - understandably a bit confused yesterday on finding herself somewhere else again, but very soon settling down. She is a great traveller in the car, and is a quiet and calm personality.

She has 3 toys to choose from, but so far has only had a few seconds play with one of them. Given time she will get to realise the fun to be had throwing toys around the room!

She does love her food and treats though - and while she will come up to you whilst you are eating for a sniff and a look with those gorgeous eyes! she doesn't pester and will happily go on to her bed and wait, just in case a tidbit may come her way!!

She does do the stairs, but is finding our winding, narrow cottage stairs a bit awkward - but by popping on her lead and going by her side she gets up fine, strangely going down is no problem.

We popped back to the kennels to cat test her this morning following an enquiry, but sadly she is not a cat friendly girl! Not to fret though, she has got so much else going for her that we are sure that forever home will be here soon - in the meantime we are happy to have this girl in our home.

Foster girl Princess Penny has been with us now for over 2 weeks, she has settled in very well. She is very well behaved and loving. Penny has been completly dry in the house and goes to bed at about 10.30pm and you dont her a peep out of her till 6.15, we have taught her the stairs, but she doesnt do the sofa or bed. She walks good on the lead, initially she was quite timid but that has improved alot, she has met other dogs and though shy she was fine, also travels well in the car. Penny is a beauty, her coat is so soft your hand sinks in, though she does have wonky ears (which are kinda cute). I hope someone is ready for this lovely Princess when lockdown part 2 is over, she is going to make a lovely family pet.

Walked this total babe of a hound today. She was initially nervous of the traffic on the A45 but was easily reassured. She walked beautifully, was interested in a squirrel but again was easily distracted. She wasn't bothered by the cats until they moved but with a firm "leave it" and praise when she did leave it she was excellent. I think she would be fairly easy to train into a new home. Absolutely love this fairly big girl. Huge cuddles for her tonight. Xxx
