I've just been out to see Sammy and drop off some more treats and his metacam (pain relief following his operation yesterday). I think he though he was coming home with me and sadly started barking as I left.... it was heartbreaking but he has just got to get used to a new environment.... I am only across the road so I'm on hand to help if need be!

Sabby (I now call him Sammy) is such a wonderful boy and I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed this morning as he has a viewing with a neighbour of mine!
I have been taking him home since Wednesday and he is absolutely amazing - seriously, if I did have room for an extra set of legs, I wouldn't hesitate. He is outrageously different to the dog we had at the kennels - stressed, barking, unsettled. His trainer told us he used to be paired with a girl and as we have to keep them all separately due to COVID restrictions and the fact that we have no girls in at the moment was impossible!
He sleeps downstairs all night on his own (he has the freedom to come upstairs if he wanted where Tiggy and Momma sleep) but he stays downstairs on his big round fluffy bed. He has totally mastered 'wee wee outside'!
Yesterday I took him for his neutering operation at Fivelands - (he was an excellent traveller) where they all fell in love with him! He has recovered very well and I am hoping very soon he will be in a home of his own so I can start working on the next one!!!!!!
I have just added a couple of photos to show how settled he is :-)

Well.... this boy had become the new love of my life ha ha! We tend to get a barker at the kennels and boy, has he got a deep bark which was unsettling the other residents so yesterday after Jo had sat in his kennel for a while whilst I hogged the computer, I took him into the sand run... he had a good burst and then proceeded to potter along by my side as I tidied the run. I kept throwing toys and he’d run over and look at them and then run back to me giving me the ‘what are you doing?!’ look!!
He then came into the office for a while where he gently shared treats with my two, Tiggy and Momma.
He grabbed the opportunity for a bread roll when he accompanied me into the kitchen to make lunch (oops... my fault).
I took him home with me... he was an excellent traveler who jumped in and lay straight down..... hmmm, quite a few accidents but easily mopped! He soon got the message that he got a treat for wee wee outside and a shriek if he lifted his leg inside!!!!
I absolutely can’t believe we didn’t hear a peep out of him all night as he slept downstairs til I let him out at 4.30 as I was awake.....and no accidents at all! What a fabulous boy!
He went straight outside to toilet and now knows to run straight back in and look at the fridge where ‘good boy wee wee outside’ ham treats are kept!
I’ve come back upstairs for my wake up coffee in bed and he is quiet downstairs. He is a fast learner and would be an amazing addition to someone’s family xxx

Sabby came with me to Elmdon Park today. Such was his enthusiasm to get out and about, it was a struggle to get in his kennel to lead him up without him escaping!!! Once he was ready though we set off. He maintained a good pace for the entire hour and a half and seemed to enjoy all the new sights and smells. He met several small dogs and came nose to nose with a few. He remembered his manners and greeted them politely. He really was a great walking companion. He can be a bit vocal in the kennels - don't let that put you off, he was quiet as a mouse whilst out and about! That said, he was also quiet when I left him in his kennel this afternoon. I think I might have worn him out!! Hoping he won't have to wait too long for his forever home xx

Met and walked handsome Sabby this morning. He walked very calmly and stood beautifully for the many many hugs he received from me (have missed spending time there with current circumstances!!). He is a stunning black boy xx
