Can you believe it? Another year older and still as mischievous as ever! Who knew our furry friend would become the reigning champion of antics and good-natured chaos? From stealing food to charming strangers, Caesar's antics keep us all on our toes!

But amidst the laughter, there's a deeper admiration for Caesar's resilience. Who would've thought he'd defy the odds and keep wagging his tail with such gusto? You're not just a pet; you're a true inspiration, Caesar.

And as for your birthday treat, well, let's just say that fish cake pie scent wasn't exactly subtle. But who could blame you? A dog's gotta celebrate in style, right?

So here's to you, Caesar! Keep being the brilliant, cheeky fighter that you are. And Sofia's got a surprise in store for you, so get ready to paw-ty like never before!!!

Caesar has been having a great year. Sometimes not easy, when we helped Josh overcome his challenges. However, you remain a good naughty boy. Keeping us all on our toes, any opportunity you see you will grab with both paws.

We took Caesar in because his prognosis was not great. In true Caesar style, he has shown cancer his middle claw and keeps beating what was predicted. Unfortunately, his tumour has grown this year, but it is not causing him any problems. As one mentioned, Caesar is having to much fun to die. Long may this continue.

You have an interesting relationship with Barney. You are partners in crime. Stealing food wherever you can find it, our kitchen, during walks, at the kennels. You are almost like true human brothers, you sometimes squabble over the coach, or in the car. Other times you are so patient and caring for one another. Caesar, I want to wish you a happy New Year, lets see where it will take you.

We recently celebrated the birth of Caesar, which was a great milestone. This weekend I managed to have a good look at the tumour on his tongue and unfortunately, I have to report that it has grown a bit :-(

Whilst this is the case, he keeps on our toes and is a good naughty boy. He is still enjoying life and we will support him for as long as he is not in pain. I am doing training with him, he gets enrichment tasks to do, going out on adventures and in the sand run. Of course, he has a tag team partnership with Barney to try and raid the kitchen.

Is it not amazing, with the poor prognosis Caesar was given, he has just celebrated his second Christmas and New year with us? This was not expected given his prognosis but glad he is still around. Will he have a third Christmas and new year? Time will tell.

He is doing well, with no sign that the tumour is impacting him negatively. I would say the opposite really. He is looking stunning. He is still a good naughty boy. I had to install a hydraulic door closing hinge as they (Caesar and Barney) kept breaking into the kitchen. The kitchen baby gate made no difference. He remains a champion scavenger, and loves his food, walks and our bed.

So far he is doing brilliantly. Fingers crossed this will continue.

I wanted to do a short update on Caesar, realistically, he probably should be six feet under. However, he is doing brilliantly and is certainly keeping us all on our toes. He and Barney are a brilliant naughty boy tag team. They are both such brilliant scavengers, give them an opportunity and they will exploit it.

With his antics, he does not always help himself but he is enjoying life and living it to the full. We don’t know what is going on inside of him. My hope was that he would celebrate another Christmas with us, touch wood, he may just do that and maybe many more.

Time for some good news

Caesar is doing so very well. He has now beat ALL the prognosis he was given for the mast cell cancer he has. He is looking even more stunning compared to when he first came to stay. You simply could not see he has cancer. To celebrate this I will start a FB fundraiser later this evening.

With young Timmy around he seemed to have matured a bit and is less reactive to other dog breeds. This is also allowing me to do more rigorous training as he is less focussed on other dogs. He enjoys the occasional play with the young boy.

It is so pleasing to see Caesar grow into this beautifull and graceful boy. Luckily or unluckily for use, he has not lost his naughty nature and together with Barney they keep being the two good naughty boys.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAESAR, to be honest, we did not think you make it this far as you are poorly. You are still kicking bottom and beating the prognoses you were given a year ago and getting close to beating the prognoses given to you at the end of August last year. You are doing so well I hope you have an other (couple of) year(s) in you. I will get you something nice today whilst doing the weekly shopping.

I am not sure where to begin today. Caesar has had an eventful time over the last 6 weeks. Lets start with just some good news. As Caesar is doing so well, together with Daybreaks we discussed the vaccination challenge. When his vaccination was due we just had the bad news that the treatment is not working and we did not vaccinate Caesar. I asked the Fivelands vet what their view was, and it was agreed that as he is doing so well, best to get him vaccinated. He has now started the vaccination process again, which is brilliant.

We also had quite a number of outdoor adventures. Walking through woodlands they had not been before. We went to Woodgate Valley Country Park, this was quite challenging for them as there were many dogs of lead with little control. The boys did brilliantly and did not respond that much.

Caesar loves being in the car so we had a number of driving adventures including to Birmingham and most recently to Nuneaton. Caesar was very keen on trying to chase pigeons in Nuneaton town centre. Again, both Caesar and Barney were very well behaved and did me proud.

As I am an instructor at the Nuneaton Dog training club, we had an instructor’s morning. I used that opportunity to allow Caesar and Barney to meet and engage with other dog breeds. This was a success. The hard work I put in is starting to pay off. Barney even had a good smell and sniff of a couple of dogs. Whilst Caesar also did very well, but he was to fixated to allow him to smell other dogs. But no lunging or barking so they really made me so proud.

Recently, Caesar and Barney took part in a talk at a school in Coventry. They both did well and were very calm. Allowed the children to stroke them and handle them. With so many children around, it was a bit stressful for them and when we returned, I did not hear them as they just slept. The next day they got a bone each for their great job.

Fingers crossed that he continues to do so well and that internally there is not much going on either. I just realised he has passed the 6 months’ time frame of his last 6 to 9 months prognoses.

Just a little update on Caesar. He had his first Christmas with us and he got spoiled of course. He had big bones to go through and his own special Christmas meal and treats. It was an exciting time as we had visitors and he always greet them so happily it is funny to watch.

New year was also good and we actually had little fireworks going of which made it easier for him. Although he is never all that fused about noise. What I am really pleased about is that he has surpassed his first prognosis of 6 to 9 months. Hopefully, he will beat the last prognosis given to him at the end of August and he will have an other Christmas with us. So far he is doing well and you simply would not say he has cancer. His coat remains beautiful, we sometimes call him Black Beauty.

Caesar is also making progress with his training. When I first had him he could be quite re-active to other dog breeds. I have him now so far that he gets animated, but he is no longer lunging all the time at dogs. He listens better and is even responding the visual ques rather then verbal instructions.

He is doing well, he seems happy and looks well. Long may he continue to ward off the cancer progression and he will remain healthy. HAPPY and HEALTHY NEW YEAR to you all, from Caesar, Barney and the Humans.

We allowed ourselves time to grieve over Charlotte, this was probably more a human need then that Caesar needed it. He always bounces back so easily, and lives live to the full, day by day and taking opportunities when they arise. I cannot speak for others, but I certainly can learn from him. One thing both Caesar and Barney still do is, after they had their food, when they come back in from the garden to relief themselves, they run to the hallway to check for food that charlotte may have left. This is a behaviour they learned when charlotte was alive, as she was a slow eater and not always ate all her food. So, there may be food in their bowls and hence they to this day they still run to their bowls to check.

He is enjoying searching for food in the garden. I cut up carrots and scatter them in the garden and I also hide carrots in the soil. I sometimes do the same with small sausages cut up and scatter them in the garden. It is a really easy way of keeping any dog active by scavenging for food. Caesar certainly enjoys the activity and keeps his brain active.

Caesar went with me to drop of my wife and daughter at Milton Keyness Train station when they went for a day out in London. Of course he loved the different smells and sights. More importantly he loves being in the car, most of the time he will watch what is going on.

Caesar, is such a loving and happy go lucky dog. He always enjoys meeting people and getting his cuddles and trying to investigate the content of their shopping bag ????. We had several visitors coming around and that was quite exciting for both Caesar and Barney. They greeted the guests enthusiastically and were happy to see them and get cuddles. These days he wants to sleep next to me. I was first a bit concerned about it but he may just be needing some re-assurance and emotional comfort, which is fine

Tina O’Hara kindly provided some essential oil for Caesar to try and help him with the cancer. He smelled them and walked away, this was with the bottle closed. Mind you, for me, it was also a strong smell. For Caesar it was, thank you, but no thanks. Tina then sent me some herbal powder and Caesar is ok with that, again this is to try and help Caesar with his Cancer. Tina thank you very much for your kindness we really appreciate this.

As mentioned, Caesar is doing really well and you would not say there is anything wrong with him. He is even doing so well that he is about to beat the prognoses given form him in April. That is quite amazing and we hope he will beat his prognosis given in August which was 6 to 9 months. We haven’t noticed any further growth of the tumour.

Caesar and Barney would want to wish all a brilliant Christmas and a Happy and healthy New Year.

It has been a different time for Caesar. Because Charlotte (our old Greyhound) was getting poorly we were not able to do as much activities as we would like. Our daughter also had half term that meant I had to pay attention and do activities with her.

We still managed to do training with him. He is really starting to walk nicely to heel. Although the table surfing is something he still does. Especially when I leave the room, haha. He is just such a clever boy and knows how to exploit a situation, basically what a good dog should do. It is the same at night he knows he should not jump on the bed but once we are asleep he will take his chance and jump on. I usually do not notice until I wake up and feel a warm body lying between my wife and I.

My wife and I had the feeling his tumour seems to sometimes not be there. When I felt alongside his tongue I could still feel a small lump. Maybe it is my wishful and hopeful thinking, but it does seem a bit smaller. In discussion with Ruth it was agreed to contact the treatment centre and give them an update. From the photo’s it is not clear to see if it is reduced and they advised to keep monitoring and keep them up to date with progress.

This week has been unsettling for both Caesar and Barney. The matriarch (Charlotte) who kept telling them off, especially Caesar, was suddenly not there. They were both somewhat confused after Charlotte had passed away and were being extra naughty to see if they could get away with more. Unfortunately for them they cannot, haha.

I remain amazed with Caesar, he is such a care free spirit, sometimes a bit too much so. He has this tumour but he does not let that bother him. He is very upbeat all the time seems to be happy and have a smile ready for you. A very loving boy, he puts his front paws on the Sofa and buries his muzzle where he can, so to get a proper cuddles. As a behaviourist he helped me with a case which was amazing. Fingers crossed and lets hope he can continue his care free life.

It has been a while since I done an update. In short Caesar is doing very well. His coat was a proper kennel coat when we took him in and now, he has such a lovely shiny black coat, that we call him black beauty :-). I have been keeping him busy with training him to walk to heal, food manners and waiting at the door and not reacting to other dogs.

He loves to come with me in the car, I had to drop off leaflets at different vets and he enjoyed the ride. We have visited the kennels a couple of times which he always enjoys specially stealing biscuits from the counter and getting a lot of fuss. Caesar loves carrots and digs them out of our vegetable patch. I now buy carrots for him and I hide these in the garden for him to find which keeps him mentally active.

He remains a good naughty boy, he loves stealing my 5-year-old daughters fluffy toys. Sometimes his naughtiness does not do him much good. Yesterday, Using the sofa, he climbed on the dresser and took my wife’s pain killers which were on the top shelve. That was a trip to the vet, we thought he had eaten 3 tablets, as throwing up was induced no tablets could be seen. I called my wife to do a further check and she managed to find 2 tablets hiding in the sofa, which was good news. I did feel sorry for the boy who already has enough to deal with and together with his antics he does not make it easier for himself.

Caesar and Barney enjoy playing games I have a number of different toys for them and they sometimes “fight” over them. But it is simply nice to watch them play fetch. I also play with them in the house and this can be noisy as they are both vocal. But it is all good fun and it keeps me on my toes. As I am writing this he is also talking to me and he does like to have his say :-)

Caesar came to Daybreaks yesterday and enjoyed a Reiki session with Tina. Tina does sessions and donations are going to support Caesar for the rest of his life. If you would like to book a reiki session for yourself or your greyhound please give us a call.

I posted this on Facebook but as Erik commented, after a long discussion with the vet at North Downs Referral Center where Ceasar has been receiving treatment for his mast cell tumour on his tongue, we feel that no further intervention should take place. He has not responded well to the treatment and the only other option is to remove a large piece of his tongue. We feel this wouldn’t be fair on the little chap. He is in long term foster with Erik and Irina who will look after him whilst he has quality of life which we hope will be around 9 months.
A massive thank you to everyone who donated to help fund the treatment with the hope of helping him and sincere gratitude to Erik and his family x

Ok, it is now really time to get the tissues out.

Caesar has been receiving Chemotherapy to try and cure the mast cell tumour under his tongue, his last visit showed insufficient response to the treatment. There have been long discussions about what to do next with all concerned. After considering Caesars current response to the treatment, sadly and with a heavy heart, it was felt that an operation to remove part of his tongue is not in Caesar’s best interest to ensure quality of life for Caesar. This means it is the end of the road in terms of his cancer treatment. We will continue to give him the love and care until he crosses the rainbow bridge. For now, we will make sure he continues to have fun. A MASSIVE thank you to all who have donated to make the treatment possible in the first place and all the support messages for him. Please keep the positive thoughts and love coming for Caesar, he will still need those.

Erik brought Caesar with him when he returned the van to the kennels this afternoon. Caesar looks fabulous and you wouldn't know he had any health issues at all. He is a happy and inquisitive boy and clearly adores Erik. Xxx

We can not thank Erik and his family enough for everything they are doing for Caesar. As Erik mentioned the journey to the Referral centre is not an easy one and it takes all day. He gives up his time because he loves Caesar and wants more than anything a cure for his cancer so that he can hopefully find his forever home and live a long and happy life. Xxx

Update on Caesar

Firstly, I want to thank you all for the continued support for Caesar, whether this is donations to Caesar’s funding page, well-wishing messages or just sending your care and love. You are all BRILLANT!!!.

Yesterday was not an easy journey. I had some challenges along the way the main one for me and the dogs was the traffic jams. I also took Barney and Charlotte with me as they do like to go out and about. What none of us enjoyed was the massive traffic jams we experienced both on the M1 and M25 unfortunately both going to the treatment centre and returning home. The journey should take about 2½ hours it actually took 4+ hours in both directions so the dogs and I were very tired when we returned home at about 19.45.

Enough about the journey let’s talk about Caesars treatment. We were very hopeful because photos taken two weeks ago showed a reduction in the tumour size. After I dropped Caesar off, I took Barney and Charlotte to the village for a walk and some much-needed bladder relief. We only had a bit of a walk when I received a phone call from North Downs, which was not a great sign.

The vet explained to me that once Caesar was under an anaesthetic, they could examine his tongue. Unfortunately, the tumour is still there about a centimetre in size. The expectation from the treating team was that the tumour had disappeared to justify a third treatment which would target the microscopic cancer cells. Hence they would wake Caesar up and start the recovery and I could pick-up Caesar.

Once I got Caesar back I had a good detailed conversation with a member of the treatment team.
The GOOD news is that there are still other options available which will be considered carefully. Main objective to keep in mind is his cure and being able to rehome him into a loving home. For now keep sending Caesar your love and care as he needs it more then ever. Again, thank you so much for your support.

A quick update if you missed my update on the FB Daybreaks chat group. Earlier this week I had to do two, one-hour walks with Caesar t ensure he was panting enough for me to be able to take photos of his tongue.

I was pleasantly surprised, and belief his tumor has shrunk. I took a number of photos from different angles and reported back to the vet how he has been, shortly after treatment and over the last 10 days.

The vet was also happy with what he could see on the photos and agreed with me that the tumor appears to have become smaller. the next appointment is on the 20th of August. Hopefully Caesar can finish his recovery and we can start looked for his forever home. That would be such a brilliant outcome for this loving young boy. Keep your fingers, legs, arms and paws crossed for him :-))

We were all disappointed to hear Caesar's treatment hasn't shown anything too positive as yet...but maybe on his next trip there will be an improvement. We are so grateful to Erik and his family for all they are doing for Caesar and to Barney for showing his support to his friend! Xxx

Caesar, has had his second treatment last Friday. It was again quite a long day for all of us. We set off at 06.00 in the morning and Barney also come along for the trip. Caesar was a brave boy and went in to the treatment centre ok. My wife did mention that his tail was tucked between his legs. Barney was showing some concern as his mate went of and he had such a worried look.

We picked Caesar up around 15.00, he had taken the treatment in his stride. Barney’s response whilst waiting was again filled with concern as he was looking at the doors to see when Caesar would come. Caesar was a little dozy but was quite ok overall. The conversation with the vet was a little less optimistic. He told me he would have expected a response to the treatment, meaning a reduction in the size of the tumour which had not occurred. Whilst I did feel myself that there was no change, I still found the news disappointing and a bit upsetting, I must admit.

The journey back was again slow, but both boys did well and we had a break in between which they both needed. It is so amazing with Caesar, he bounces back so quickly and remains full of life. On Saturday he did sleep a lot and he did seem to feel quite hot. Again, he has been keen to go on his walks and do other activities. The next 10 days are going to be important for him. Lets hope and keep our fingers, legs, arms and toes crossed that there is a response to the treatment.

On a positive note, the vet feels positive about being able to do an operation if this is needed. He feels he can remove the tumour in such a way to allow sufficient tissue to remain. Even if he has to do a more dramatic removal, whilst Caesar may be a messier eater (no change there as he throws his food around already) and drinker he could still have a good quality of life. So it is not al doom and gloom.

Lets all send Caesar, lots of positive thoughts and loving thoughts and lets get him through this so he can enjoy a full life in a forever home :-)

Caesar has had an eventful couple of days. On Friday we left home at 06.00 to go to North Downs Specialist referral centre. As he is a young boy he took it in his stride. We arrived at 09.00 after a good easy drive. We took a picture of him as he was taken in. The wait was long but early afternoon I spoke with the vet, all had gone well and he agrees with me that his tumour had grown :-( When the nurse came with Caesar, she mentioned she was surprised how quick he had recovered from anaesthesia and was hungry for food.

We quickly prepared to go back home. He settled in the car quickly just rested. The journey was quite long the first 50 miles it was traffic jams. We tried to have a break and Caesar was already so much perked up, head raised etc. We arrived back home around 18.45 the 3 hour journey had become a 4-5 hour journey.

On Saturday morning he was ready to go and have his walk and have fun. That is the benefit of him being a young boy. He slept a bit more during the day but honestly, as the nurse told me he be drowsy for the next day or two. Not Caesar, he wanted to come with me to the Kennels but left him home to relax. In two weeks’ time we will need to do the journey again for his second lot of treatment.

Thanks to everyone who has made this possible for him, you are all amazing :-)

To everyone who has donated, you truly are wonderful caring people in helping to give this young boy a chance. Once he has been through his treatment we will be available for adoption - he is a wonderful happy boy. Thank you everyone - Ruth x

I am keeping everything crossed for this boy, it's great news that he can proceed with the treatment, it's so very expensive and as you say a fantastic amount of money has been raised so far, wouldn't it be the best if the majority of the money could be raised to help this wonderful hound. Caesar, I am not religious but I'm praying for you to make a full recovery. Wishing you all the luck in the world xxxxxx

Caesar has had his first consultation last Thursday. The consultant was positive about his chances and that is may not be the aggressive version. Yesterday we got the results of the initial tests and we are so pleased to hear that there is no spread and he has the all clear to start the treatment. It looks like that the whole treatment as it stands now, is about 4K. He will need three treatment session. sofar the funds raised is £1570.- thank you so much for all of you who have donated.

I think the journey was stressful for him as he did not have a proper meal till about 16.00. He had as I call the a very liquid stress poo. We love the boy to bits as he is a good naughty boy and the best result will be that he can be re-homed into his forever home, because he has the all clear. Fingers crossed that this will all come true for him.

An interesting article in Your Dog magazine for July 2021- a dog had a Mast Cell Tumour in his mouth, the owners vets referred him for new, ground-breaking electrochemotherapy at a specialist oncology centre -Oncologist Gerry Polton at North Downs Specialist Referrals in Surrey. The electrochemotherapy could apparently be targetted only at the tumour using a probe then the chemo is delivered directly to the tumour without causing the tongue to lose tissue or function (quoting from the article). The tumour that the dog in the magazine had has completely disappeared following the treatments. Hopefully this might help Caesar too, it's so upsetting when they find retirement and are ill. Using specialist cancer units can access state of the art treatments, one of my deerhound lurchers had an aggressive malignant tumour on a foreleg and we took him to Cambridge Vet School and Davies White near Hitchin for radiotherapy and he survived and recovered well xx

Caesar has been a busy boy the last couple of weeks. The main thing is that so far he is in good shape. I was concerned about his weight as he seemed to be losing it even with increased food, thankfully and with the help of pasta he gained almost 2kg. I also checked the lump and it does not appear to have grown so that is great news to, of course I do not know what is going on internally with this boy.

I think he likes our daughter, as we have some adorable snaps with them both. He learns quick if he wants to, but he also knows an opportunity when he sees one. Give him the chance to be naughty and he will be.

Caesar has enjoyed several outings with us all, 3 dogs and 3 humans. We managed to go to a water park, he has visited a forest and we walk along the canals regularly. We also went to visit friends and he enjoyed that, he was much better with the 2 Italian greyhounds but he remains anxious around other breeds, he is fine with other Greyhounds but other breeds he is not (yet) content with. There is a bit of work to be done with him. I think I can speak for the whole family and that whilst he can be very naughty we do adore him. Every morning he wakes me up at about 6.15 jumping on the bed and wanting a cuddle and some fuss which I happily and sleepily give to him.

Caesar has been both an angel and a devil. In the house he is a sweet naughty boy and I have such sweet images of him in the house with my 4 year old daughter and in the car to. As always she is supervised when she is with the dogs.

Caesar also showed his devil side last week. It surprised and shocked me, as it was out of the blue and out of character. He has been very good around other dogs and even at the vets when there was a little puppy he was curious but gentle. The devil side showed when we walked up a narrow railway bridge. You cannot see who or what is coming. Caesar was first on top and when I saw the other young Rottweiler type dog, I was raining them in for better control. Before I knew it Caesar leaped at the other dog and held his nose. Barney also joined in. Luckily I managed to get them both of no serious injuries, a small cut to the other dogs lip. It just shows when dealing with animals you always must be on your guard.

Some may say, ohh why did they not have a muzzle on. For me it is simple, to prepare them for their live after the kennel you need to trust them at some point especially when they don’t show any aggression or nervousness for a while, as always he is fine with other Greyhounds it is other breeds that can make him unsure, it is an assessed risk. I have since muzzled them again and also split the two foster boys. I walk Caesar on his own now. I have also paid very close attention to his body language. Generally he is excited but neutral. When he sees other dogs he may become just curious but I also noticed that he can occasionally starts to lick his chops and his tail can go between his legs, these are signs of anxiety. I also noticed that a more bouncy/active dog will make him more nervous and respond. In hindsight the narrow bridge a bouncy young dog made him charge. I should not forget that he has cancer, and he may have an off day or be in more pain which will also cause him to respond we simply do not know.

We also took Caesar to Birmingham for an excursion. He did not fully enjoy that experience. He found the train station interesting but the town with all that noise and all those people he was not so keen on. He was very tired when we went to the Kennels and much happier once there. On the way back home both my daughter and Caesar fell asleep and Caesar rested his head on my daughters lap.

It has been a nice time so far. The two foster boys really enjoy their walks so it can be 3 normal walks and a short walk to pick-up Sofia. Caesar is learning about the area and enjoying what he sees. He is such a curious boy. During the walk he is mostly with his head up walking tall being very attentive to all that he sees.

Last weekend was an adventure weekend, we had to go to Northamptonshire, which is an hours drive away. He was very good in the car stood up initially but then settled down. It was his first long drive with us mind you it was my first long drive. He took it in his stride.

As Charlotte (our Greyhound) has been there before she was a nice relaxed companion her Caesar. There are two Italian Greyhounds there and that was stressful for Caesar. He did really well, he is getting better with other breeds. We had no incidents or lunges, I think Caesar was sometimes more scared then the Italian Greyhounds. When we did an evening walk it was interesting how his instinct kicked in. The 2 Italian Greyhounds were of the lead and running around having fun. As you can imagine Caesar wanted to join in and got very excited.

We also have been doing some recall training with Caesar. He is making progress with that, his manners in the house are also improving. I am trying to calm his manic eating down with placing a cup over his food so it is a bit more effort. He has worked out that he can lift the cup and get to the food that way, Barney has not figured this out yet.

We picked-up Barney from the Kennel. I am not sure but Caesar really did not like going into the office. He is happy standing outside, I could only get him in briefly with a treat. He even prefers to stand in the rain then be in the office, hahaha. Today He was happily relaxing in the office lying on a comfortable bed :-)

Yesterday morning Caesar throw-up a couple of times. I am not panicking, it is what sometimes happens, but during the walk he was also a bit less enthusiastic then what he would normally be so I just give him some more cuddles. Today, Barney and Caesar had a fight, Caesar trying to muscle in Barney’s food, I suspect, I had to get in there quick to avoid injuries. Barney has shrugged it off but Caesar is a sensitive soul and was quite offended, his pride has been hurt. This afternoon they are happily lying next to one another as if nothing happened.

Ceasar has had an eventful week. He had 3 walks a day together with Barney, now and then with Charlotte (our old lady Grey). Charlotte is really getting old her mind wants to go for walks but her body will say NOOO towards the end of the walk. As the weather was good we did have frequent walks along the canal, always a nice experience for them. He was not impressed with the ducks or the swans but Barney did find them interesting. I have been surprised how strong this little boy is on the lead. Ceasar also met lots of different breeds and is not always sure about them and can lunge. He came along to pick-up our daughter from school, as short walk away from home. Ceasar may be poorly but he will still need to learn the robes about living in a home so he will receive training. Ceasar and Barney are truly crime mates they both get up to mischief and sometimes team up :-) a little tag team. They enjoyed visiting the Kennels and the run where they were chasing one an other for toys. Ceasar also got a bath which he was less impressed with and he got a grooming session too. Ceasar is in interesting character, he is really not concerned about the others. So he may lay down and place his head on a sleeping Charlotte, jump on the Sofa where Charlotte is lying or just wriggles in a space between barney and a cupboard which can result in growls or barks. He also insists on morning cuddle, Barney sometimes joins in. He is such a great little boy.

We have had Ceasar on foster since Sunday. He has settled in really well. We did not do a lot on Sunday so he could settle and acclimatise to our home. Barney, our other foster, and Caesar seem to hit it off and like to play together. On Monday we did a couple of walks and including one with all 3 of them to the vet for Charlotte (our greyhound) I shared a funny photo of them at the vet. https://www.facebook.com/groups/15539565263/permalink/10157802045250264/?notif_id=1619466384186413&notif_t=page_post_reaction&ref=notif.
Today, he had a canal walk and a walk to the garage. He found the garage very interesting. We also met several dogs and he is getting used to them. He is such a lovely boy, full of beans, wants to walk all the time and so playfull . Today he came to me and curled up against me just makes your heart melt. Live is not always fair is it?

Caesar has been at my house since we collected him from his foster home. Since being at mine, other than being a food monster he has been so good - especially with Tigger, Momma, Tony and more recently Champ. Sadly my house is far too small and my life too hectic for 5 at home so I am appealing desperately for a foster home for this poorly boy. His prognosis at best is approximately 18 months (he has a mast cell tumour on his tongue and we are not going to operate as we feel that making his life more difficult with eating and drinking is not fair on him. If anyone could take this happy boy - even for a short while as I just don't want to leave him at the kennels and my life is too hectic - please give us a call at the kennels. 0121 782 7702 xxx

We are all so very sad for Caesar and for the Greyhound injured by him yesterday. Wishing him a speedy recovery. Thinking of Caesar's foster family, it's been a very traumatic time for them. I know they were very fond of him. Xx

It would be wonderful if someone could offer Caesar a loving home for how ever long he may have. In 2019 we had lovely Bobby who was diagnosed with liver cancer a few weeks after we fostered him. He was only expected to live for a few weeks. However we had twelve months with him. He was an absolute joy, we were very lucky to have had the pleasure of his company and we have no regrets about taking him on. Xxx

Sending lots of love to Caesar tonight. Xxx

It is Caesars 2nd Birthday today - I wish it was a Happy Birthday but sadly I have some sad news.
Caesar arrived at Daybreaks on the 16th March. He went to the vets on the 19th March for his castrate.
Unfortunately whilst he was under anaesthetic for his castrate, the vet found a lump in his mouth under his tongue so an aspirate was sent off for histology.
Caesar went to a foster home following his castrate up until yesterday.
Unfortunately the results have now come back that the lump is a mast cell tumour. Unless the lump is removed, we will not know if this is a high or low grade tumour. To remove the lump would involve removing a portion of his tongue and therefore a wide margin would not be possible without severely affecting him with his eating and drinking.
To make things worse, yesterday Caesar attacked the other greyhound in his foster home resulting in both going to the vets. Caesar only required stapling for a minor wound, sadly the other greyhound required a substantial stitch up.
I collected Caesar from the vets last night and he is currently staying with me. The situation with a poor prognosis and the fact that he has bitten another dog, makes him sadly very unhomeable.
It is a long shot, but if I could find a foster home for him as an only dog to live out the short time he has left, then please contact Daybreaks Kennels. All costs for his care and treatment will be funded by Daybreaks Trust.
If you think you can help, please call Daybreaks on 0121 782 7702 between 10am and 4pm.
