Halloween Howl
Sunday 31 Oct 2021
Updated: Sunday 17 Oct
We are so glad to finally be able to invite you to join us in an evening of remembrance and celebration for all our beloved hounds that have gone to Rainbow Bridge. We can also take the opportunity to reflect and remember our own loved ones that have been lost to us over the past very difficult 18 months.
Far from being a sad occasion, it will be a chance to meet up under lantern lit gazebos, catch up with old friends, chat and swap stories and memories of happy times past.
Tickets are £5 and will include a jacket potato and your candle & glass candle holder, all proceeds will go towards supporting the wonderful boys & girls in our care at Daybreaks Kennels, making their stay with us as fabulous as possible. The evening will be from 6.00pm til 8.00pm with the candle lighting ceremony taking place, and bringing proceedings to a close, at 7.30pm.
The raffle, which will have been taking place throughout the weekend, will be drawn just prior to this.
Additional candles can be purchased for just £2.50 and if you can't come along but would like us to light a candle in memory then we are more than happy to do so.
To book your ticket (for catering purposes) or arrange for a candle to be lit on your behalf, please call the kennels on 0121 782 7702.
We hope to see you there.

Michael has pointed out that a bit of context might be required, and that I am probably the only person who knows what the "Bucket O Bones" mentioned in my previous post refers to!!!! Lol. My apologies, I do indeed get carried away, so to clarify .......
On the run up to Halloween, as well as having raffle tickets on sale, we will be running 2 fun activities for you to have a go at - "Trick or Sweets" which is guess the number of sweets in the pumpkin, and "Bucket O Bones" which is guess the number of bone shaped doggy biscuits in the bucket.
We will announce the "Trick or Sweets" winner on the Saturday afternoon (30th Oct) so the lucky winner will have a supply of treats on hand for any evening visitors!
However, the lucky hound whose hooman makes the right guess can take home a lovely "Bucket O Bones" from the Halloween Howl.
That's better - now we all know what's going on!!!!

Tickets are selling well, as we are having a bit of a problem with the online shop please give the kennels a call and we will happily take payment by phone and post your tickets out.
We have tweaked the timing of the evening a little bit to help our guest who will be conducting the candle lighting ceremony for us. We will get started at 6pm, and food and hot drinks will be available straight away. The raffle will be drawn, and the winner of the "Bucket O Bones" will be announced at around 7.15pm, then the candle ceremony will take place.
We don't mind it being a bit on the cool side, but keep fingers crossed it stays dry for the evening. Hope to see lots of you and your hounds there as we get together to reflect, share happy memories and remember the hounds we have loved & lost.

Tickets are £5 and will be on sale at the kennels, or online, from tomorrow.
Parking has been arranged with Birmingham Exiles Rugby Club - the entrance to the sand run is back up the driveway from the car park on the right, and will be signposted.
Hope to see lots of friends, both 2 & 4 legged, at a very special evening. x

Tickets are still available but we would be grateful for final numbers by tomorrow lunchtime (Saturday) so we can go shopping!!
We are so grateful to Revd Emily Spencer, who is coming to us hot foot from her service at Knowle church (stopping off at home to collect her boy the lovely Theo) to lead our candle lighting ceremony.
Looking forward to catching up with everyone, having a cuddle or two with the doggies and sharing cherished memories.
