I had a lot of fun at the dog show and I hope the participants (human and dog) enjoyed it too. It was great to work with such a fantastic team of people. Apologies to everyone who had to listen to my loud voice shouting you all into the ring! It was lovely to see lots of other breed dogs in the show as well as the greyhound entries. I believe that the money raised will be totalled up tomorrow.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the volunteers at Elmdon Church for their amazing welcome and for providing teas/coffees/biscuits and for the use of their facilities. The church was also open to light a candle. The church hall was decorated with Union flags and there was memorabilia of the Queen as well as a huge wonderful collage of the Queen over the years on the wall.

Massive thanks to Chris & Rob, Rob, Eddie, Lynne & Carol for their hard work at Elmdon Park today. Lots of lovely doggies winning rosettes, and vital funds raised for the boys and girls in residence at Daybreaks.

Following discussion with the Elmdon Park Support Group, the decision was taken to proceed with tomorrow's dog show.

Her Majesty was a great dog lover herself, and patron and supporter of many charities, so continuing with the event will be both a tribute to her and a way of bringing the community together at this sad time.

Whilst some activities have been cancelled, there will still be things going on and stalls to visit - here's hoping for a successful day. x
